ACI-Herzog, an operations and maintenance contractor for a heavy rail transit system fleet, was contracted by Tren Urbano in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico to modernize their fleet.

During the testing phase of Tren Urbano's 74 trains, ACI-Herzog encountered an unexpected increase in failure rates for critical elements in their propulsion system.

Despite extensive efforts with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), identifying the root cause of the issue proved elusive, significantly affecting vehicle availability.
